Therefore, its optimum control within an integrity management framework is paramount for the cost-effective design of facilities ensuring continued, uninterrupted and safe operations within the expected design life.

A presentation dealing with materials selection and corrosion control methods in oil and gas Industries describing causes of corrosion, influential parameters affecting its development and means of mitigation.  The talk will cover types materials used in hydrocarbon production, manner of optimization and design to minimize its occurrence.

Presentation 2: – Dr Bijan Kermani (UK) FNACE, FIMMM, FICorr, CEng

A talk on corrosion threats in upstream operations will cover several themes including the cost impact of corrosion, principal types of corrosion threat and corrosion/materials challenges facing the industry sector.  It goes on to describe a methodical approach to Pipeline Corrosion Management (PCM) to minimize the impact of corrosion in future operations.
