Sir John Parker Competition Final

The Sir John Parker Competition, run by the Professional Development Network (PDN) of the Midlands Branch of the Pipeline Industries Guild (PIG), looks to promote the opportunities and challenges of working in the pipeline industry.

Over the last few weeks candidates have submitted short synopses on a variety of topics associated with the pipeline industry, and from numerous excellent entries 3no. entrants have been selected to give a 15-minute presentation on their chosen subject.

The shortlisted candidates who will be presenting are:

  • Serena Variah – Assistant Project Engineer, Severn Trent Water
  • Usman Ashraf – Network Engineer, Cadent Gas Ltd
  • James Reynolds – Design Engineer, Severn Trent Water

The presentations will be judged by a panel of PIG representatives and a winner will be announced. The winner of the competition will receive:

  • The Sir John Parker Trophy
  • Prize - £250
  • Invitation to present at the National Final

We will then hear from our Guest Speakers who will be discussing “The Future of Gas”.

  • Lorna Millington, Future Networks Manager at Cadent Gas
  • Rachel Perry, the HyNet Project Manager at Progressive Energy Limited

We do hope you will join us for what promises to be a very interesting event.

Thank you to our sponsors
