The Ofwat Water Breakthrough Challenge is providing funding for the creation of a National Leakage Research and Test Centre (NLRTC) for the water industry and supply chain to accelerate the development of innovative solutions to the challenges of leakage detection and repair.
Clive Surman-Wells, Innovation Partnerships Manager of Northumbrian Water will explain what is proposed and how the centre will be designed.
The NLRTC will be unique in a number of respects: Free to use for some innovators, fully staffed, a 5km pressurised buried test water network filled with designer leaks.
We'll explain the many innovative features of the planned facility and the process by which it will be specified, designed, built and then used in this unusual 5 year project.
