The Midlands Branch is hosting the Sir John Parker Paper and Presentation Competition for the Professional Development Network of The Pipeline Industries Guild. To enter the competition, please submit a 200-word synopsis by 31st January 2020 on any subject associated with the pipeline industry. 1st prize £500!

To develop presentation skills of entrants, to enhance entrants’ profile within their chosen companies & associated industries. CPD certificates can also be issued if requested for participation in the short-listed presentations.

How to Enter:

Submit your 200-word synopsis including contact details to Jenny Salt (jenny.salt@fishergerman.co.uk) by 5pm on Friday 31st January 2020 on any subject associated with the pipeline industry.

Examples include, but not limited to: Waste & Potable Water, Gas, Oil, Health & Safety, the Environment, Logistics & Planning. Presentations are encouraged from all business functions and do not have to be engineering based.

 

Entries will then be assessed, and shortlisted candidates will be invited and required to give a 15-minute presentation on their chosen topic, whilst clearly demonstrating their own personal involvement, at the competition regional final on Tuesday 3rd March 2020 at Cadent, Ashbrook Court, Prologis Park, Central Blvd, Coventry CV7 8PE. They must also be prepared to answer questions from the audience and judges for a further period of 5 minutes.

 

The Winner:

The winner will be announced at the regional final on Tuesday 3rd March 2020. The competition winner will receive £500 and the Sir John Parker Competition Trophy. They will also be entered into the National Competition against other regional winners, taking place at the National Pipeline Industries Guild Conference at the Manufacturing Technology Centre in Coventry on Thursday 7th May 2020.

Entry Conditions:

Synopses and presentations are to be composed and delivered individually. Entrants must be between 18 and 35 years of age.

Synopses received after the deadline date will not be entered into the competition.

Entrants must be able to attend and present at the Sir John Parker Presentation Competition in Coventry on Tuesday 3rd March 2020.
