The Midlands Branch have arranged this exciting opportunity to visit Roundhill Sewage Treatment World to learn more about the current programme of upgrades being delivered on the site. During the visit we will look into the background and drivers of the current project, the solution options considered, the site and environmental constraints impacting the works and whether any lessons can be learnt for the future, before taking a tour of the treatment works to see how the project is progressing on the ground.

Severn Trent Water Ltd (STWL) is a regulated business with statutory responsibilities for the provision of water and sewerage services to over eight million people and businesses in an area stretching across the heart of the UK, from the Bristol Channel to the Humber, and from the West to the East Midlands.

STWL is currently implementing its Asset Management Plan for AMP7 (April 2020 to March 2025), which is the mechanism by which the regulator OFWAT defines in a five-year capital expenditure programme for all water companies. Investment during the AMP7 period is in response to a number of key challenges including population growth and the importance of protecting the environment. Investment during this period seeks to build the resilience of water supply, upgrade treatment works, reduce leakage and pollution incidents and protect the environment.

The works being undertaken at Roundhill STW form part of a wider scheme of upgrades being implemented to meet tightening environmental permits and to accommodate increased flows.

Due to limited spaces available booking for this event is essential and place will be offered on a first come firt served basis.

All visitors must have appropriate PPE including: high viz top, steel toed boots with midsole, hard hat and gloves. Eye and ear protection should be available to people but doesn’t have to be worn at all times.

All visitors must approach the site via Lloyd Way, off the A449, not via Gibbet Lane (see below).
