Anglian Water at 50 (Part 2)

Anglian Water was formed 50 years ago via The 1973 Water Act. The speaker will give a potted history of the latter years from privatisation under the Water Act 1989 to the present day from a regional perspective, but with reference to Peterborough.

The speaker, a retired Anglian Water Engineer, will talk about the development of capital delivery within the Water Company from the time just prior to privatisation and describe the major infrastructure improvements which have been undertaken during that second 25 year period with particular reference to the evolution of the capital delivery method. This event follows the earlier event of 23 April 2025 that covered the years pre-privatisation.

The speaker, David Chadwick a Chartered Civil Engineer, commenced his career with the Essex River Division of the Anglian Water Authority , employed initially on the Thames Tidal Defences , progressing through various engineering and operational support roles within the organisation before moving to Peterborough in 1999 as part of the relocation of the company’s Technology Group to Peterborough. David concluded his Anglian Water career as Head of the Project Office with a delivery role within the @OneAlliance.
