MEMBERS ONLY - Site Visit - Lower Thames Crossing

The Pipeline Industries Guild South East Branch is delighted to invite members to an exclusive visit to the Lower Thames Crossing project, one of the largest and most complex infrastructure programmes currently being delivered in the UK.

This visit will provide a unique opportunity to gain first-hand insight into the scale, challenges and innovation involved in delivering a nationally significant transport scheme. Attendees will hear directly from project leaders and delivery partners responsible for key elements of the works, including representatives from the Murphy/Bouygues Joint Venture, Balfour Beatty and Skanska.

The event will begin at the project's visitor centre, where attendees will receive an overview of the wider Lower Thames Crossing scheme, its objectives and delivery strategy. This will be followed by presentations exploring how the project is being delivered as a Carbon Pathway project, highlighting approaches being adopted to reduce carbon impacts and promote sustainable construction practices.

A particular focus will be placed on the extensive utilities works being undertaken across the programme, providing valuable insights for pipeline and infrastructure professionals involved in major project delivery.

The visit will also include access to the viewing platform and a guided minibus tour of the site, offering participants the opportunity to see key work areas and understand the logistical and engineering considerations associated with delivering a project of this scale.

The morning will conclude with lunch and networking opportunities, allowing members to engage with project representatives and industry peers.
