Site Visit to the Lowestoft Gull Bridge
The event is a site visit to the Gull Wing Bridge at Lowestoft . The bridge will bring better movement around Lowestoft, and an improved connection between the north and south of the town as well as benefitting the local area from an economic point of view.
By making Lowestoft easier to move around, existing businesses should benefit from an increase in trade and new businesses should be attracted to the area.
During the construction phase, as well as once the bridge is completed, the project will create new jobs, apprenticeships, and will work with local schools.
Construction work on the Gull Wing began in the Spring of 2021. Preparation work commenced in February 2021, with pilot drilling taking place to confirm locations of utilities such as water and gas pipes.
The official “ground- breaking” for the project was announced on 22 March 2021 with a special video.
