An exciting opportunity to visit the National Buried Infrastructure Facility (NBIF) at the University of Birmingham. This is a ‘one of its kind’ facility for research, education and training associated with all things buried.

 

This event will take attendees around the National Buried Infrastructure Facility (NBIF) at the University of Birmingham.  This is a ‘one of its kind’ facility for research, education and training in:

Buried infrastructure-ground interaction,
Soil stabilisation and improvement,
Geophysical sensing,
Pipeline detection and condition assessment,
Tunnelling,
Trenching & trenchless technologies,
Structural performance of transport-ground-pipeline systems and green-grey infrastructure interdependencies.

The timings of the event are as below:

9:30am – 10:00am – Arrival & refreshments
10:00am – Introduction/overview of NBIF
10:45am – Guest Speaker 
11:15am – Questions/discussion
11:45am – NBIF tour
12:30pm – lunch
