Cut The Cost, Cut The Carbon – Change Coagulant
This presentation looks at how Bristol Water have been slashing water treatment costs and carbon footprints by exploring the use of alternative coagulants, which despite their higher cost have led to net reductions in operational chemical consumption.
The presentation by Jamie Bezer covers how bio phosphorous removal was achieved in an existing operational oxidation ditch. System optimisation between 2019 and 2022 is described and a conclusion as to whether this provides a viable alternative to chemical dosing is drawn.
