About the Company:
Scottish Carbon Capture and Storage (SCCS) is a research partnership drawing together world-class CCS expertise from a range of Scottish universities and the British Geological Survey. Our capabilities cover all aspects of the CCS chain and we engage with businesses and policy makers to drive forward CCS development at home and abroad.CCS and CO2-Enhanced Oil Recovery (EOR) operations will require a substantial network of new pipelines, connections and services, and we can advise and work with companies on technical and feasibility issues to meet this challenge. We can also access a range of funding for industry and academia to work together to leverage R&D investment. As of 2014 in the UK we have two commercial-scale CCS projects undergoing detailed design studies: Peterhead, Aberdeenshire and White Rose, Yorkshire. These are in line to be among the first of many full-chain CCS projects across Europe and elsewhere in the world.UK and Scottish Government emphasis on making the most of remaining North Sea oil reserves means that capturing CO2 for use in EOR operations could lead to exciting opportunities for the pipeline industries.
