Utilities Panel - Why build in Leakage?
An interactive workshop and seminar exploring how we can acheive leak free new networks.
New networks are being installed with leaks or weakness/defects which will become the leaks of the near future. With higher than ever leakage reduction targets for the water companies why are we building in leakage to our already leaky systems.
Hear the industry experts and take part in an interactive workshop to develop an action plan to acheive the aim of leak free new networks - now and in the future.
The key aim of the workshop will be to gain buy in to acheive the installation of leak free networks and identify how this can be acheived.
The workshop will hear from industry experts and key stakeholders on the current leakage target challange, why our new networks are not watertight, pressure testing failings and what some of the solutions might look like. Attendees will then e invited to workshop the issues and the solutions coming back together to agree which initiatives and projects should be taken forward and what blockers need to be removed to acheive the aim of leakage free new networks.
A white paper will be produced recording the findings and recommendations of the workshop which will detail the next steps required.
Purpose
Ensure that the water industry is aware that currently new PE networks are being installed with leaks and weaknesses which will become leaks. Gain buy in to achieve the installation of leak free networks and identify how this can be achieved.
Objectives
Communicate current problems with installation of new networks
Get attendees to agree leak free new networks are possible
Produce a list of actions required to improve the quality of installation
Target Outputs
A charter document signed by all present committing to install leak free new networks
List of root causes why new networks leak
List of initiatives to address the root causes
List of potential blockers to the initiatives
