In my role as COO, I have operational responsibility for all of Cadent’s networks, specifically London, East of England, West Midlands and the North West. I also lead all asset investment and construction programmes, our new connections business and lead our engineering and asset management functions. In practice, this means that I have operational oversight and responsibility for all of Cadent’s work in the field, from planning works, dispatching emergency engineers, maintaining the supply and balance of the network and leading end the end the programmed investment across the 135,000 Kilometres of network infrastructure we operate, serving 11 million homes and businesses.
Prior to joining Cadent, I was the Operations Director of Northern Gas Networks (NGN) for over 8 years and joined NGN in 2010, prior to the development of the RIIO-1 Ofgem regulatory framework, and therefore was involved in the regulatory engagement process for RIIO-GD1 in my role there. Prior to that, I was a partner at EC Harris (now part of Arcadis) for more than ten years, leading the power distribution sector and primarily involved in construction project management and controls for major investment programmes, also assisted in a number of utility company acquisitions in the sector across the world.
