Anglian Water at 50 (Part 1)

Anglian Water was formed 50 years ago via The 1972 Water Act. The speaker will give a potted history of the first 25 years from a Peterborough perspective.

 

Brian Keegan, a retired Anglian Water Engineer, will talk about the formation of the then Authority and describe the state of water, sewage disposal and river management services in 1974 in the Peterborough area. He will then detail the infrastructure improvements which took place up over the next 25 years until 1999.

 

Brian Keegan a Chartered Civil Engineer, commenced his Engineer in London with the Greater London Council working on various schemes including Beckton STW. He joined Anglian Water Sewage Division in October 1974 and had various roles including a Senior Design Engineer, a Principal Engineer Planning Liaison and from 1988 until 1992 was Divisional Engineer for the Western Division. He has compiled this talk with the help of many of his colleagues who worked in the other disciplines.
