Webinar - Electrical Impact Assessment for Pipelines Due to Alternative Energy Sources

Upcoming Webinar Series: Electrical Interference to Pipelines Presented by Life Member Ken Lax. Join us for a two-part webinar series led by Life Member Ken Lax, who has been an active contributor to The Guild for 40 years. Ken currently serves as a valued panel member on both the Onshore and Utilities Panels.

Part One – 17th September 2025
Understanding Electrical Interference Risks

With the rapid increase in alternative energy sources such as solar farms, wind turbines, and battery energy storage systems there is an increase in the risk of unacceptable electric interference to pipeliness.

This session will focus on the two main concerns:

  • Increased or accelerated pipeline corrosion

  • Safety of personnel

Building on previous presentations on electrical interference to pipelines, this presentation explains the sources of electrical interference and how the interference and safety risks can be assessed.

The presentation is suitable for non-specialists.
