The forces generated within buried pressure pipe systems can become very large and it is critical that the forces are fully understood and properly catered for by the design. It is also important for anyone working in close proximity to buried pressure pipes to understand how forces are passed into the ground by different pipe systems.
This new CIRIA guide offers updated guidance to the design of thrust blocks as well as providing guidance to the design of tied jointed systems. The guidance also helps engineers to understand when thrust blocks are needed and how to design thrust restraint of continuously welded pipe systems as well as providing guidance on thrust restraint for under-pressure fittings.
This seminar will outline the key principles as well as introducing the new guide.
