The PDN Competition has been arranged to provide young professionals with the opportunity to deliver a 15-minute presentation on any subject pertaining to the pipeline industry (Water, Sewerage, Gas, Oil, Tunnelling, Onshore, Offshore, Health and Safety, Land and Environment), followed by a 5-minute Q&A session from a panel of judges.
The panel of judges from the Pipeline Industries Guild and Industry Partners shall award marks based on the following criteria:
- Relevance/potential benefit to the Pipeline Industry
- Originality and professional content of material
- Degree of personal involvement and depth of knowledge demonstrated in specified area
- Quality and enthusiasm of presentation; excitement/engagement and time limits
- Ability to deal with questions
- Presentation delivery and timing
The winner of the competition will win the regional trophy and receive £250, a place in the national final held at The Pipeline Industries Guild Annual Conference and see their work publicised in the Guild’s “In the Pipeline” magazine.
This year’s joint event will be held at AtkinsRealis in Manchester.
