About the Company:
United Utilities is the UK's largest listed water company. We own, operate and maintain water and wastewater assets in the North West of England. We work around the clock, 365 days a year,to supply around 1.9 billion litres of water every day to approximately 3.2 million homes and businesses before removing it safely and treating it before returning it to the environment. Our water business is regulated in terms of both price andperformance. The water regulator, Ofwat, reviews our price limits every five years. In the period between 2010-2015 we will be investing around ?3.6 billion to improve the water and wastewater infrastructure and the environment across the North West.We see ourselves as stewards of the natural resources of water and use our rich legacy of engineering and planning skills to build the essential backbone of thriving communities in the North West of England. Through our determination, we turn complexprocesses into something as simple for our customers as turning on a tap or flushing a toilet. We have currently been awarded with the coveted Business in the Community (BiTC) Company of the Year Award for responsible business practice.
