Subsea Pipeline Technology Award
This award, introduced in 1993, is made annually for the most significant contribution to subsea pipeline technology. The objective is to promote the development of new ideas in the general field of subsea pipeline technology.

2025 Winner:
Winn & Coales (Denso) | Groundbreaking Advances in Offshore Pipelay Denso’s Viscotaq Offshore Field Joint Coating System
In June 2024, a Malaysia-based oil and gas company embarked on an ambitious offshore pipelay campaign in Southeast Asia. These pipelines included 18km of 10" and 22km of 12" pipe, both operating at 109°C. This project highlighted the advantages of the Denso Viscotaq OFJC system and demonstrated that a cold-applied FJC system can be safe, efficient, robust, and effective while significantly reducing specialist equipment and manpower.

2025 Winner:
APPLUS | Inspection of a non-piggable crude oil offloading pipeline
Inspection with ultrasound of a “non-piggable” large diameter crude oil Offloading pipeline with a length of 21.2 km. This inspection is performed with a robotic crawler which is equipped with ultrasonic probes to measure the wall thickness and geometry of the pipeline. What makes this unique is that it is implemented with a tethered tool which generates live data.
