n/aCompany Description
Barhale is a civil engineering and infrastructure specialist with over 35 years experience in the construction industry. Founded by our Chairman, Dennis Curran in 1980, the group was originally set up as a specialist tunnelling contractor. Whilst we retain our tunnelling roots, repeated success in several sectors of the construction industry has enabled us to expand our skill set and become one of the largest privately owned infrastructure specialists in the UK.
Today, Barhale focuses on four key sectors; water, energy, built environment and transport with blue chip clients, many of whom are long-standing relationships based on Trust, Integrity and Pride.
We provide a multi-disciplinary solution to our clients centred around civil engineering projects and supported by specialist businesses in tunnelling, MEICA, In-house design and BCS. Barhale provides design, construct and maintenance services delivered through a direct employment model underpinned by having the 'ability to put men to work'.
The company culture derives from a family ethos based on values that have been embedded within the organisation for over 30 years (safety, communication, quality, integrity, team spirit, caring, trust and pride). Our 3 Pillar Model defines our mission - to be recognised by our customers for being profitable, safe and giving consideration to the environment around us, supported by sound systems and processes, talented people and an engaged supply chain.

Bristol Water supplies drinking water to approximately 1.2 million people in a 2,400 square kilometre area centred on Bristol. Our 16 treatment works ensure the water we supply is of the highest standard as it leaves for the 139 storage reservoirs which store the treated water. Treatment may be comparatively simple, such as the microstraining and sand filtration which is applied to the water from the Mendips. Water from the Severn is cleaned at Littleton and Purton using the latest technology including ozone disinfection and granular activated carbon filtration. Bristol Water can boast both excellent quality of water, and some of the lowest levels of leakage in the country.
